New Dawn Electric Wins Jobber’s First-Ever $100,000 Grant
New Dawn Electric has received Jobber’s first-ever $100,000 grant, the largest individual award in the history of the Jobber Grants program. Now operating from its new Sarasota location, the residential and commercial electrical contractor is investing in its people, technology, and service capacity while pursuing partnerships with other strong local electrical businesses.
Jobber announced the award on August 25, 2026, naming New Dawn one of nine recipients across North America. The program awarded $250,000 in total to home and commercial service businesses recognized for their work and community impact. Read Jobber’s official announcement for the national story.
Investing in the team and the Suncoast
For New Dawn, the award supports the people and systems behind everyday electrical work: responding to a homeowner’s repair request, coordinating with a builder, or helping a commercial customer complete a project. The company serves Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, and surrounding Suncoast communities.
Its work includes residential electrical service and repairs, panel upgrades, lighting, EV charger installations, generators, new homes and major remodels, and commercial tenant build-outs.
The company is already operating from 2254 72nd Ave E, Sarasota, FL 34243. With its new base in place, New Dawn plans to expand apprenticeships, strengthen operating systems, adopt AI-powered tools, and improve customer responsiveness and project capacity across Florida’s Gulf Coast.
In Jobber’s announcement, President and CEO Jacob Green described what the award means for the company:
“This grant means our team of 20 finally gets a real home base—a bigger facility with room to grow,” said Green. “It also lets us expand our apprenticeship program, because training the next generation of electricians ourselves is how we build something that lasts. Our goal is $10 million in revenue by 2028, and a reputation our community trusts for decades.”
Building on New Dawn’s local roots
Green and co-owner Jackson Poe acquired New Dawn Electric from Allan and Kelly Quickel in November 2025. The transition preserved the customer relationships, workforce, and local reputation the Quickels had built, while bringing additional resources and systems to the business. Allan remains active as Head Electrician.
“Kelly and I wanted the transition to protect the team, customers, and reputation we had worked hard to build, and it has gone very smoothly,” said Allan Quickel, Head Electrician at New Dawn Electric. “I am still active in the business and get to stay connected to the people and electrical work I care about, but I no longer carry the full weight of owning and operating the company. Jacob and Jackson have respected what made New Dawn special while bringing new energy, systems, and resources to help it grow.”
Two equally important paths to growth
New Dawn’s strategy combines organic expansion with selective partnerships and acquisitions. Developing electricians and apprentices, improving service, and increasing construction capacity are equally important to its plans as joining forces with established electrical contractors.
