Founding Story
New Dawn Electric began as a leap of faith—rooted in craftsmanship, community, and a desire to serve with excellence. Long before the company grew into one of the region’s most trusted electrical providers, it started with Allan and Kelly, whose combined strengths created something far greater than either imagined.
Allan brought more than 30 years of electrical expertise as a Master Electrician. Kelly contributed two decades of customer service, marketing, and administrative leadership from the health insurance industry. Together, their complementary talents formed the foundation of a business built on responsiveness, attention to detail, and genuine care for people.
Their story is intertwined with their faith. While raising their young daughters, Allan and Kelly found a church community that encouraged them through a seven-year journey of spiritual growth. That same group urged them to take a courageous step — leaving stable jobs to start a business they would build together. With guidance, prayer, and a lot of hard work, New Dawn Electric was born in Maryland in 2012.
The company flourished, and in 2017, Allan and Kelly followed their calling back to the Bradenton/Sarasota area, relaunching New Dawn Electric and beginning the next chapter of growth. Through dedication and a commitment to high-quality work, the business expanded from a small residential service company into a trusted partner for Service, Remodels, New Home Construction, Commercial Projects, and Pools. Today, with a fleet of service vehicles on the road and a team of skilled professionals, New Dawn continues to grow primarily through word-of-mouth and repeat customers—a testament to its reputation and values.

A New Chapter
In 2025, New Dawn Electric entered a new season when the company was purchased by lifelong friends Jacob Green & Jackson Poe to continue building on the legacy Allan and Kelly created. Jackson and Jacob were drawn to New Dawn’s mission, character, and culture—and were committed to preserving the heart of the business while providing the resources to help it grow.
Jacob, a seasoned General Contractor with deep experience in new construction and builder relationships, now leads day-to-day operations as President. His background strengthens New Dawn’s capabilities across construction and service work, while Jackson supports the company’s growth strategy and administrative infrastructure.
Allan remains deeply involved as Head Electrician and Qualifying Agent, ensuring the technical excellence and integrity that have always defined New Dawn Electric. Kelly's imprint on the business continues , and the company remains anchored by the values they built it upon: Quality Craftsmanship, a Passionate Spirit, and a Helpful Heart.

Jacob Green stepped into the role of President at New Dawn Electric in 2025 alongside lifelong friend Jackson Poe, eager to build upon the strong legacy established by founders Allan and Kelly. As a seasoned General Contractor with extensive experience in new construction and builder relationships, Jacob is now responsible for leading the company’s day-to-day operations. His background significantly enhances New Dawn’s capabilities in construction and service work, reinforcing the company’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and exceptional service while honoring the helpful heart and passionate spirit that defines the New Dawn culture.
John "Allan" Quickel
Co-Founder and Master Electrician
With over 40 years in the electrical trade, Allan is a Licensed, Master Electrician and cofounder of New Dawn Electric along with his wife, Kelly. He has honed his skills through years of experience in Maryland and Florida. Allan's expertise and experience are integral to the success of New Dawn Electric. He is committed to providing reliable and efficient electrical services, and his attention to detail ensures that every job is done right the first time. Allan works everyday to pour into the next generation of electricians by teaching them the trade and is there to guide in more complex electrical situations along with our seasoned Leadership Team of Technicians.
